The formal regulations, procedures and all supporting documents of the final Master project can be found via this link. We evaluate the final Master project in five equally weighted categories: Specialization, Research and Design, Execution, Report and Presentation and Defense. Each of these categories aims at taking a different angle in the evaluation process of the student graduation project.
Category | Evaluation angle | Key questions |
Specialization | Student-centered | What does the student know and can? |
Research and design | Work-centered | What are the merits of the work? |
Execution | Process-centered | How was the project done? |
Report | Documentation-centered | Are the results formalized and recorded? |
Presentation and Defense | Communication-centered | How is the knowledge conveyed and defended? |
The main evaluation page of the defense form contains the five categories and subsequent rubrics which substantiate the evaluation. To determine the grades we generally apply two scales for the evaluation of the five categories: qualitative and quantitative. The higher grades should generally inherit all guidelines of the lower grades but exceptions are possible.
