The Execution category is process centered. We put our attention on how the students execute their projects, e.g. workflow, planning, effectiveness, productivity.

Execution

The Execution category is process-centered. We evaluate the abilities of the students to execute projects through how they have done their graduation projects. The emphasis for our evaluation is on their independence, dedication, planning, and effectiveness. The main scale is:

successful → explicit → proficient → novel → visionary

Rubrics of evaluation


The aspects of the performance criteria for the category Execution, as specified in the evaluation forms, are:

A. Level of independence

Definition: Pro-activity and independence in execution and organization, networking activities for acquiring knowledge.

Main gradient: Exact instructions needed → Guidance needed → Independent, little guidance → Fully independent → Autonomous and a source of inspiration.

B. Commitment and dedication

Definition: Commitment in the project, problem-ownership, dedication, level of responsibility, responsibility as team member

Main gradient: Basic work ethics → Positive attitude → Fully responsible → Full project ownership → Drive beyond own project.

C. Time planning

Definition: Effectivity of time planning, ability to adhere to planning or adjust planning where necessary, general timing;

Main gradient: Major goals and milestones achieved → Project goals and milestones achieved in time → Pro-active, independent planning → Full project management → Planning and management beyond the project scope.

Definition: Ability to communicate with specialists and peers, organization of research, preparation/effectiveness of meetings

  • The student has no responsibility towards the project;
  • The student did not properly communicate the progress of the project to the supervisor(s);
  • The student is not able to make a project planning and is not able to follow a given plan and meet deadlines;
  • The nominal project duration has been exceeded by 100% without force-majeure reasons;
  • The student badly needs daily steering;
  • The student cannot function in a team and has conflicts with colleagues;
