Research and Design: Formulation of research questions

10

  • The research question(s)/project goals are original, highly relevant, clear, visionary, topical, motivated, perfectly understood and explained;
  • The research questions/project goals should be clear to both experts and non-experts;
  • There must be a clear, effective, original and motivated research/design approach that can be adapted by others;
  • The solutions for the problems should be urgently required;
  • The societal and/or scientific benefits should be elaborated in a visionary way;

9

  • Research questions/project goals are novel, clearly motivated and address relevant topics;
  • The problem definitions/application are motivated in a very good and critical way so that the challenges of the project can be very well appreciated by both experts and non-experts;
  • There must be a logical discussion on how and why the chosen research/design approach is followed;
  • The research/design approach is highly original;
  • There is a solid and novel answer to the research question and/or a solid, reliable, original and complete deliverable;
  • The societal benefits should be addressed in the work;

8

  • Research question(s)/project goals are clear, relevant and well motivated;
  • The problem definition/application is clear and connected to the research question(s)/project goals in a relevant way;
  • The research/design approach should be motivated, logical, well communicated and argued to be correct;
  • There should be a solid, explicit answer to the research question(s) and/or a solid reliable deliverable.

7

  • Research question(s)/project goals are clear and defined explicitly;
  • The problem definition/applications are connected to the research question(s)/project goals;
  • The research/design approach should be explicitly addressed.

6

  • Research questions/project goals are implicit and can be extracted from the work;
  • The followed approach does not contain major contradictions or logical flows;
  • A logical research/design approach can be extracted from the work;
